3 Reasons to Consider Invisalign

Crooked teeth can cause poor oral health and self-esteem issues. Thankfully, modern orthodontic treatments can quickly straighten your smile and significantly improve your quality of life! While traditional braces are commonly used to address serious alignment problems, many patients are eligible for clear aligner therapy. Here are three reasons why you may want to consider Invisalign®:

  1. Trays Are Nearly Invisible
  2. Traditional braces are very noticeable, which can make many people self-conscious. Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic so they’re inconspicuous on your teeth. Their subtlety makes this option particularly popular with adults.

  3. Meals Feel Normal
  4. Patients with braces have to avoid certain foods, like corn on the cob, whole apples, popcorn, nuts, chewy foods, candy, and more. In contrast, you don’t have diet restrictions with Invisalign because you remove your trays before you eat. You’re free to eat crunchy, chewy, and sticky foods. Just remember to clean your teeth before putting your trays back in. You will also remove your aligners if you’re drinking anything other than water, like sports drinks, coffee, tea, wine, and so on.

  5. Oral Hygiene Is Simple
  6. It can feel challenging to brush and floss your teeth when you have traditional metal braces. You need to brush meticulously around the brackets and wires, and a water flosser and floss threaders are necessary tools. When you have Invisalign, you take the trays out so you clean your teeth like normal. The only change is brushing your teeth more often and clean your Invisalign trays. You’ll brush your trays with a soft-bristled toothbrush, lukewarm water, and dish soap. Toothpaste is too abrasive for your aligners.
