How to Know If Invisalign Is Right for Me

July 30, 2022 12:07 am

While Invisalign is a popular clear aligner system, it’s not the right orthodontic choice for every patient. Like any orthodontic treatment option, there are pros and cons. In this blog post, we’ve answered some FAQ to help you decide if Invisalign is right for you.

What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign clear aligners gently straighten your smile over time using a series of custom trays that fit around your teeth. The trays aren’t a perfect match for your current teeth alignment; therefore, they guide your teeth into different positions using constant pressure. You’ll need to wear the aligners at least 20 and 22 hours each day. But you can easily remove them to eat, drink, and brush your teeth. Additionally, the aligners are smooth and clear. This means they are comfortable and minimally disrupt your appearance. Depending on the severity of your misalignment, you may need small tooth-colored attachments on the front your teeth to give the aligners more traction.

What Are the Benefits of Invisalign?

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign is discreet. You’ll still feel confident showing off your smile while progressing toward a straighter smile! Average treatment is only 12 to 18 months. Additionally, Invisalign aligners are easy to clean and do not complicate your oral hygiene routine. You remove them to eat and drink anything besides water so you don’t have to worry about eliminating certain foods like you would with traditional braces.

Is Invisalign Expensive?

Because each Invisalign treatment plan is customized to the patient’s individual needs, the cost varies and depends on several factors. Our patient care team can work with you to help fit clear aligner therapy in your budget with an in-house payment plan, financing through CareCredit, or our in-house clear aligners. We are also in-network with many dental insurance providers. Your plan may offer orthodontic coverage to reduce your out-of-pocket cost.
